Seeking a Tourism Development Expert with a strong background in training and capacity development to support the institutional capacity of the Government of Sri Lanka (GOSL). Relevant donor-funded project experience is required.

The Expert will conduct tourism development activities with the Ministry of Tourism and other relevant GOSL entities. This is a continuation of successful activities conducted with the GOSL under previous USAID activities.

Tourism is a critical and strategic export for Sri Lanka. This assignment is expected to run approximately 1.5 to 2 years and will be based in Colombo.

Qualifications And Skills
  • 10+ years experience in tourism development, business enabling environment, or related
  • Experience managing and implementing donor-funded economic growth projects is required
  • Proven skills in training formulation and delivery.
  • Ability to manage relationships with local partner organizations.
  • Experience working with local national staff, donors, host government counterparts, and other stakeholders on project implementation. USAID experience is a plus.
  • Private-sector experience and contacts in local, regional, or international markets preferred
  • Fluency in English (spoken, written) is required.
  • IDG has issued policies essential for the safety and well-being of all staff, including requirements for all employees to be appropriately vaccinated or to have an approved exception/exemption on file. New employees will be asked to provide validation of full compliance of IDG's vaccination policies.
